DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT
On February 23, 2024 a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) was published in the State of Hawai‘i Office of Planning and Sustainable Development’s Environmental Review Program’s The Environmental Notice. During the initial 45-day public comment period, the Maui Planning Commission (MPC) lost quorum for their March 25, 2024 meeting when the Draft EIS was scheduled to receive comments.
The Draft EIS was subsequently republished in the April 8, 2024 issue of The Environmental Notice with the second 45-day public comment period ending on May 23, 2024. The MPC heard the Applicant's presentation of the Draft EIS at its April 23, 2024 meeting and received public testimony. Comments received during both public comment periods have been included and addressed in the Final EIS.
